Description
Itinerary:
You leave by the Caprazoppa road tunnel on the edge of Finale Ligure and ride for 19 kilometres along the main Aurelia road, SS1, until you pass Albenga.
Turn right towards Villanova d'Albenga where you begin a gradual climb until you reach Casanova Lerrone.
From this point, you begin a tough climb for several kilometres, until you reach the summit of the Passo del Ginestro, from where there is a descent. Turning left, you pass Testico, going towards Alassio. Just before Moglio, take the road towards S. Bernardo with its fantastic views. This road ends in the centre of Alassio.
Taking the Aurelia and turning to the left towards Finale Ligure, you can ride back to your starting place while enjoying views of the Mediterranean.
Directions
One of the best-known climbs on the Ligurian Riviera, the passes of Ginestro and il Testico often form part of the winter professional riders' circuit and feature in races such as the Trofeo Laigueglia and the Giro di Liguria.
The sunny aspect of this route means it is also enjoyable in the winter months.
